Gymnastics Canada proud to announce the team travelling to Sofia, Bulgaria for the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships

Canada will have three senior individual gymnasts and one senior group competing in the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. The competition will be hosted at the Armeec Arena from September 14 to 18, 2022. To watch the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, tune into CBC Sports on Saturday, September 17 at 4:00 PM EST.

The delegation for the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships consists of the following members:

The competition schedule for the 2022 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships is as follows:

  • RGI Qualifications and Final (Hoop & Ball) – Wednesday, September 14
  • RGI Qualifications and Final (Clubs & Ribbon) – Thursday, September 15
  • RGG All-Around Competition – Friday, September 16
  • RGI All-Around Final – Saturday, September 17

Leading up to the World Championships, the senior individual gymnasts captured the gold medal during the team final at the 2022 Commonwealth Games as well as capturing four medals during the apparatus finals, one for each apparatus. At the 2022 PanAm Championships, Carmel Kallemaa and Suzanna Shahbazian captured a combined four medal finishes, including Kallemaa finishing third All-Around.
