2022 Canadian men’s DMT champion, Gavin Dodd (KGTC, BC), captured the silver medal with a final score of 29.200 in the DMT final on day 3 of competition. Dodd finished just one point behind gold medalist Ruben Padilla of Team USA.
“I was really happy with my performance today. This was my first World Championships so I’m so excited to be bringing home a medal,” shared Gavin Dodd following his medal performance. “This experience was incredible, and I can’t wait to get back home and apply what I’ve learned here.”
In the women’s synchronized trampoline competition, Sarah Milette (Virtuose, QC) and Sophiane Méthot (Virtuose, QC) finished 5th in the finals on the final day of competition. They finished with a score of 43.660 in the finals.
In the men’s individual trampoline competition, Jérémy Chartier (Vrituose, QC) and Rémi Aubin (Dynamix, QC) both qualified for the final on day four of the competition. Chartier qualified in second place during the semi-final event, while Aubin qualified in eighth. In the end, Chartier finished in 5th place with a total score 57.820 and Aubin did not complete his routine.
The final event to take place was the team final on November 19, where Team Canada ultimately finished in 5th place. The team included Sophiane Méthot (Virtuose, QC) and Jérémy Chartier (Virtuose, QC) in the individual trampoline events, Gavin Dodd (KGTC, BC) and Gabby Flynn (Shasta Trampoline, BC) in the double-mini trampoline events, Abby Thompson (Calgary Gymnastics Centre, AB) and Justin Thompson (Quinte Bay Gymnastics, ON) in the tumbling events, Sophiane Méthot (Virtuose, QC) and Sarah Milette (Virtuose, QC) in the women’s synchronized trampoline event, and Jérémy Chartier (Virtuose, QC) and Rémi Aubin (Dynamix, QC) in the men’s synchronized trampoline event.
