How To Report A Concern
Reporting suspicions of child maltreatment
Individuals across all disciplines of gymnastics in Canada have the right to participate in a sport environment free from abuse, harassment, and discrimination. If you are concerned about the welfare of a child, youth, or other participant, or have reasonable suspicion that a child or youth is the victim of any form of abuse or neglect, it is your duty to report.
If a child is in immediate danger or risk, regardless of where (or what level) the abuse/maltreatment is occurring, call 911 or your local police.
If you are concerned about a child or youth being mistreated outside of Gymnastics, you also have a duty to report. Please report to your local/provincial child protection/welfare agency, or local police. If the child or youth is in immediate danger, phone 911.
Other participants that are not minors also have the right to participate in a healthy sport environment and can access the complaint mechanisms outlined below.
Club/Province related concerns
If the abuse/maltreatment is happening or happened at a club or provincial level, please follow the reporting procedure set out by your Province, including reporting to police and your Provincial or local Child Protection/Welfare authority if applicable.

National Team and Gymnastics Canada related concerns
Gymnastics Canada has adopted the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP) and has been a signatory since April 1, 2025. Through the CSSP Rules, Sport Integrity Canada independently administers the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) for federally funded, national-level sport organizations by receiving and responding to reports of prohibited behaviour, and by developing and carrying out education, prevention, and policy activities.
The CSSP Rules clearly and publicly set out how that will be done, including defined timelines at each stage of the reporting process. The CSSP also offers support services to connect participants with help along the way.

How to report a complaint
Sport Integrity Canada will accept reports through an online report form and by phone. Both methods allow you to remain anonymous if you wish. If you choose to share your name when you make a report, Sport Integrity Canada will not share it with Gymnastics Canada unless it is necessary to keep you or someone else safe and will make every effort to get your consent beforehand.
