Amanda Harbus

As a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and the Director of Finance, Comptroller for Hockey Canada, I have a deep respect and understanding of National Sport Organizations and the important role they play to strengthen sport across our country, and I am eager to contribute to GymCan’s growth and governance as a Board Director. I have been with Hockey Canada for more than 10 years, and I currently oversee the entire financial function for the organization, the Hockey Canada Foundation and the Hockey Canada Foundation US, including the annual and any third-party audits for each entity. Through my role on Hockey Canada’s senior leadership team, I support the organization’s strategic direction and priorities, especially through the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts and attend all Audit and Finance Committees for each entity, and Hockey Canada Foundation and Hockey Canada Foundation US Board meetings, I am also our organization’s main contact with Sport Canada and prepare our funding agreements and reporting, while working with internal stakeholders to ensure we are compliant with our contribution commitments.
