Gymnastics Canada Recognizes Audrey Rousseau and Sophiane Méthot as NCCP Coach Education Grant Recipients

Ottawa, ON (April 16, 2026) – Gymnastics Canada is proud to recognize Audrey Rousseau (artistic gymnastics) and Sophiane Méthot (trampoline gymnastics), who have been selected among 20 Team Canada athletes as recipients of the 2026 NCCP Coach Education Grant. 

Delivered in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada and Game Plan, the grant provides up to $1,000 in funding to support athletes pursuing coach education through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). The initiative provides financial assistance to help athletes continue their development beyond competition and explore future opportunities in coaching.  

As high-performance athletes, Audrey Rousseau and Sophiane Méthot bring a unique perspective to the sport. Their experience, discipline, and understanding of the athlete pathway position them to make a meaningful impact as they explore coaching 

“I am extremely honored and grateful to receive this award, which gives me the opportunity to grow in my coaching career. I hope to share my passion for sport with future generations and help young people reach their full potential. This recognition brings me one step closer to that goal,” said Sophiane. 

“I’m very grateful to have been selected for this grant. It represents a key step in my transition into coaching and allows me to support the next generation,” said Audrey Rousseau. 

This recognition reflects their ongoing commitment to growth within the sport of gymnastics and their desire to give back to the next generation.
