OTTAWA, ON (February 12, 2025) – Gymnastics Canada proudly participated in the 2025 Sport for Life Summit, presenting on the importance of inclusivity and lifelong engagement in sport.
The Sport for Life Summit unites leaders committed to enhancing quality sport and physical activity across Canada. This year’s event, held in Gatineau, Quebec, from January 21 to 23, centered around the theme Joy for Everyone, emphasizing the role of fun and enjoyment in sport at every stage of development.
On the final day of the summit, Denise Alivantov, Manager of Coach and Sport Development, and Alyssa Scalera, Coordinator of Sport Development, delivered a presentation titled Gymnastics for All: Fostering a Lifelong Love of Sport. Their session highlighted Gymnastics Canada’s efforts to create accessible and engaging opportunities for participants of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
“It was an honour to share how Gymnastics Canada is fostering inclusivity and lifelong engagement through our Gymnastics for All (GfA) initiatives, including Gymnaestrada,” said Alivantov. “By focusing on joyful experiences, we hope to inspire others to embrace innovative ways to build a more welcoming and engaged sports community.”
