Two Canadian Podiums in Varna for Jorgensen and Demers

Ottawa, ON (May 11, 2026) – Canadian gymnasts Amy Jorgensen and Coralie Demers both reached the podium this weekend at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Varna, Bulgaria, delivering incredible performances for Canada on the international stage. 

Held from May 7–10 at the Palace of Culture and Sports, the FIG World Challenge Cup brought together high-level artistic gymnasts from around the world. 

Competing in her first senior international event, Coralie Demers delivered one of the standout moments of the competition by earning the bronze medal on uneven bars with a score of 12.800. The youngest athlete in the competition to reach the podium, Demers showed impressive composure and precision against a field of experienced competitors. 

Amy Jorgensen also added to her international success with a bronze medal performance in the balance beam final, earning a score of 12.600. With a confident and steady routine, she stood out in a highly competitive field. 

These results mark a promising start to Demers’ senior international career, while Jorgensen continues to establish herself among the top finalists on the international stage.
