Ottawa, ON (July 29, 2026) – GymCan is proud to announce that all National Team athletes, coaches, judges, and Integrated Support Team (IST) members now have access to Headversity, an innovative mental health and resilience platform designed to help individuals build practical skills to navigate challenges both in and out of sport.
The launch is part of GymCan’s ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive high-performance environment, where mental well-being is recognized as an essential component of athlete development and performance.
Through GymCan’s partnership with Headversity, National Team members will have unlimited access to evidence-based training, resources, and tools that help develop resilience, strengthen mental fitness, and build the skills needed to effectively manage stress, pressure, setbacks, and change.
“Mental health is just as important as physical health when it comes to achieving excellence in sport,” said Jenny Trew, Senior Director, High-Performance of Gymnastics Canada. “Providing our National Team community with access to Headversity is another important step in ensuring our athletes, coaches, judges, and support staff have meaningful resources that help them thrive both personally and professionally.”
The initiative directly supports GymCan’s recently launched Safer and Stronger Safe Sport Strategy, which identifies participant well-being as a key pillar in creating a safe, respectful, and positive gymnastics environment. By investing in proactive mental health education and resilience training, GymCan continues to strengthen the support available to everyone involved in the National Team program.
Unlike traditional mental health resources that are often accessed only during times of crisis, Headversity focuses on developing everyday mental fitness. Through short, practical learning modules and real-world strategies, users can build lifelong skills that enhance confidence, adaptability, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.
“Challenges and obstacles are part of an athlete’s everyday life. Headversity helps me approach them with greater confidence, resilience, and perspective”, said Sophiane Méthot, Paris 2024 Olympian and Headversity Ambassador.
“Taking just a few minutes each day to invest in your mental well-being can have a lasting impact on your resilience, both in sport and in life,” said Karina Kosko, National Team coach and Headversity Ambassador.
To help champion the platform, GymCan is pleased to welcome Olympian Sophiane Méthot and National Team coach Karina Kosko as the organization’s official Headversity Ambassadors. Together, they will help encourage conversations around mental wellness and promote the importance of building resilience throughout an athlete’s journey.
