Ottawa, ON (July 28, 2026) — Canada’s artistic gymnastics team concluded a remarkable performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, by capturing 11 medals in the apparatus finals, bringing its overall artistic gymnastics total to an impressive 16 medals over five days of competition.
Canada’s athletes delivered one final statement on July 27 and 28 in Glasgow, collecting five gold, three silver and three bronze medal across two days of apparatus finals to close the Games in dominant fashion.
After claiming all-around silver just one day earlier, Félix Dolci (QC) returned to the competition floor and continued to shine, winning gold on vault with a score of 13.766. He also earned bronze on parallel bars with 13.300 and finished fourth on floor exercise scoring 13.233.
“I know that I always put the best of myself out there. When I visualize my biggest goals, even dreams that might seem delusional, people might think I’m crazy, but that pushes me to challenge myself and puts the pressure on me to excel. That’s when I perform my best and continue to get better,” said Félix Dolci.
Jordan Carroll (SK) rose to the occasion on pommel horse, capturing Commonwealth gold with an outstanding score of 15.000. Combining the highest difficulty score in the field (6.000) with a rare 9.000 execution score, Carroll delivered the routine of his career to top the podium.
“Breaking the 15 mark has been a goal of mine, and I’m glad I could finally do it. I did the routine of my life, I’m happy with the result and I’m feeling great right now,” said Jordan Carroll.
Canada continued its medal-winning momentum with a memorable one-two finish on still rings, as Félix Dolci claimed gold with a score of 13.766 and William Émard (QC) took silver with 13.600. Dolci went on to capture another gold on high bar scoring 14.233, where his routine featured the highest difficulty score of the final at 5.800, while Émard earned bronze with 13.566. Émard also added a fourth-place finish on parallel bars with a score of 13.200.
“I’m super proud of myself, and I’m really happy for Canada. Going one-two on rings, we really showed that we can step up on any event,” said William Émard.
René Cournoyer (QC) also reached the podium, earning silver on floor exercise with a score of 13.966. His routine was highlighted by an exceptional 8.866 execution score, one of the highest of the final.
“Ending up with a medal is everything I could have asked for,” said René Cournoyer.
On the women’s side, Lia-Monica Fontaine and Ellie Black added three more medals to Canada’s total.
Competing in her first Commonwealth Games at just 16 years old, Lia-Monica Fontaine (QC) was crowned Commonwealth champion on vault with a score of 14.000. She went on to earn bronze on balance beam with 13.000 and finished fifth on floor exercise with 13.100, capping an extraordinary Games debut.
“I’m really happy to be representing Canada, and winning four medals is incredible,” said Lia-Monica Fontaine.
Veteran Ellie Black (NS) added another chapter to her remarkable Commonwealth Games legacy, claiming silver on uneven bars with a score of 13.900. The medal was both the first uneven bars medal of her Commonwealth Games career and the ninth Commonwealth Games medal overall. She alsofinished fourth on balance beam with 12.966.
“I’m pleased that it went well and I was able to end on the podium for Canada. I think you just have to take gratitude in every single moment that you have to be able to do this because it is so special,” said Ellie Black.
Lia Redick (ON) also delivered a strong performance, narrowly missing the podium with a fourth-place finish on floor exercise with a score of 13.233.
Canada leaves Glasgow with an impressive 16 artistic gymnastics medals, highlighted by the nation’s first Commonwealth men’s team gold medal in 20 years, a women’s team silver, three all-around medals and nine apparatus medals—capping an unforgettable Commonwealth Games performance by Canada’s artistic gymnasts.
With confidence and momentum on their side, Canada’s artistic gymnasts will now turn their attention to the 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, taking place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from October 17–25.
