Ottawa, ON (July 27, 2026) — Canada’s artistic gymnastics team continued its outstanding performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, adding three more medals to its growing tally during the men’s and women’s all-around finals.
Following Canada’s gold medal in the men’s team final and silver medal in the women’s team final, Canadian gymnasts captured one gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the individual all-around final.
Ellie Black (NS) made history by winning her second Commonwealth Games Women’s All-Around title with a score of 53.050, becoming the first gymnast to win two Commonwealth Games individual all-around gold medals. Her last all-around title was won at the 2018 Gold Coast Games.
“I think we’re just changing the narrative of women in sport and gymnastics, and hopefully inspiring the coming generations to see that there’s no age cap. You can keep going and you can still get better and enjoy what you do,” said Ellie Black, Commonwealth Games Women’s All-Around Champion.
On the men’s side, Félix Dolci (QC) delivered a remarkable comeback performance to earn the silver medal with a score of 79.450. Sitting 17th after two rotations, Dolci surged through the final four apparatus with a series of outstanding routines to climb all the way onto the podium.
“One of my biggest virtues or values in the sport is that I never give up. I feel like I’m someone who’s very determined to achieve what he wants and his goals, so that’s always something I’m trying to display when I compete,” said Félix Dolci, Commonwealth Games men’s all-around silver medalist.
Competing in her first Commonwealth Games, Lia-Monica Fontaine (QC) earned the bronze medal in the women’s all-around with a score of 52.800, marking an impressive international milestone in her senior career.
“It’s definitely a big opportunity and I really took it. I’m really happy with what I did honestly,” said Lia-Monica Fontaine, Commonwealth Games women’s all-around bronze medalist.
William Émard also delivered a strong performance, finishing eighth with a total score of 77.250.
Canada will now turn its attention to the apparatus finals, where the team has qualified multiple athletes across both the men’s and women’s competitions.
