Ottawa, ON (July 4, 2026) — After five days of performances, workshops, and unforgettable moments, the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada came to a close on July 4 in Regina, Saskatchewan, bringing together more than 650 participants from across the country to celebrate the spirit of Gymnastics for All.
The event concluded with two full days of indoor performances at the Brandt Centre, where more than 30 groups took to the floor each day. With routines ranging from one to fifteen minutes, the performances showcased a remarkable variety of styles, artistic expression, and creative storytelling. Each routine reflected the unique identity of its group, demonstrating the diversity that defines Gymnastics for All. The energy inside the venue was contagious, with enthusiastic crowds, constant applause, and joyful participants creating an atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of the Canadian Gymnaestrada.
The celebrations culminated in a Closing Ceremony recognizing the creativity and dedication displayed throughout the week. Following opening remarks and a spotlight performance by Saskatchewan’s Gymnastics Adventure Acrobatics Gymnastics Team, this year’s adjudicators—Yvonne Tousek-Renne, Casting Advisor at Cirque du Soleil, and internationally recognized Gymnastics for All expert Marco Bortoleto of Brazil—selected six groups to deliver special encore performances during the ceremony:
- Momentum Aerial and Acrobatic Troupe (Manitoba)
- Elena’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Club (Alberta)
- Calgary Acrobatic Gymnastics Corp. (Alberta)
- Rhythmic Waves Gymnastics Club (Ontario)
- Bohemka Gymnaestrada Team (Saskatchewan)
- Pulsion Santé (Quebec)
During the closing ceremonies, Momentum Aerial and Acrobatic Troupe of Manitoba, was presented with an award for being selected by World Gymnastics as Canada’s only group to perform in the Gala at the 2027 World Gymnaestrada in Lisbon, Portugal. With the 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada now complete, participants are already looking ahead to the international event, which will take place from July 11 to 17, 2027.
As the curtains close on the 2026 edition, Gymnastics Canada extends its sincere appreciation to Gymnastics Saskatchewan and Regina Hotel Association for its dedication, hard work, and outstanding efforts in organizing and delivering the incredible 2026 Canadian Gymnaestrada.
