Competition Recap – Jesolo, Italy April 12th – 13th 2025

OTTAWA, ON (April 15, 2025) – Canada’s women’s artistic gymnasts impressed with strong performances at the XVI Trofeo Città di Jesolo, held April 12–13 at the Palazzo del Turismo in Jesolo, Italy. 

Women’s Senior Results 

The Canadian Senior Women took to the stage in the all-around qualifications, showcasing solid routines throughout. Lia Monica Fontaine led the team with an impressive 5th-place finish, scoring 53.050 and securing spots in the Vault, Uneven Bars, and Floor finals. Amy Jorgensen followed in 25th with a score of 49.400, while Evandra Zlobec placed 28th with 48.950. Victorianne Charron and Alyssa Gurrier Calixte finished close together in 37th and 38th, posting scores of 47.050 and 46.850 respectively. Aaliyah De Sousa rounded out the Canadian contingent in 47th place. 

In the Vault Finals, Lia Monica Fontaine secured the silver medal with a score of 13.975. Fontaine finished Uneven Bars and Floor finals in 5th with a score of 13.100 and 8th with a score of 12.100.  

The Senior Team finished 5th in the Team Competition. 

Women’s Junior Results 

The Canadian Junior Women competed in the all-around qualifications of the competition. Samantha Couture led the charge for the Canadian’s in 15th place with a score of 48.600. Coralie Demers followed closely in 17th with a score of 48.350. Taya Macey finished just inside the top 20 in 19th with a score of 48.050. Stella Letendre finished in 23rd with 47.600. Maryam Saber rounded out the Canadian team in 27th with a score of 46.800.  

The Junior Team finished 4th in the Team Competition.

The Canadian Junior’s shined in qualifications and punched their tickets to multiple apparatus finals: 

Vault: Coralie Demers finished 4th with a total score of 12.800 and Taya Macey finished right behind in 5th with a total score of 12.800. 

Uneven Bars: Samantha Couture claimed the Bronze Medal with a final score of 12.250. Stella Letendre finished in 4th with a final score of 11.950. 

Beam: Coralie Demers finished the event in 5th with a score of 11.600. 

Floor: Maryam Saber finished in 6th with a final score of 12.150.
