Ellie Black and Rosie MacLennan Honored with 2024 Canadian Sport Awards

OTTAWA, ON (December 2, 2024) – Gymnastics Canada (GymCan) is proud to announce that Ellie Black and Rosie MacLennan have been recognized with prestigious awards at the 2024 Canadian Sport Awards.

The True Sport Award celebrates a Canadian athlete who exemplifies the values of excellence, fairness, inclusion, and fun in a meaningful and inspiring way. GymCan is thrilled to share that Ellie Black has been selected as this year’s recipient. Congratulations also go to the exceptional nominees, Nathan Clement (Para-Cycling) and Jacob Wassermann (Para-Rowing), who continue to inspire with their achievements.

The #AthleteVoice: Representative of the Year Award recognizes an athlete representative who has demonstrated exceptional courage, initiative, and leadership within their national or international sport organization. We are delighted to announce that Rosie MacLennan is this year’s recipient, exemplifying the very best in athlete advocacy.

Ellie and Rosie received their awards at the Canadian Sport Awards ceremony, held in Ottawa on December 2, 2024, marking the launch of the Game Plan Summit and the Team Canada celebration.

Congratulations to Rosie and Ellie for their outstanding achievements! Gymnastics Canada is incredibly proud to have them as role models and leaders in our community.
