Update from the Board

January 17, 2025 | Corporate

On behalf of the Board of Gymnastics Canada, I am writing to share with you that our CEO Andrew Price will be leaving Gymnastics Canada for a new opportunity at the end of January 2025.

In his time at Gymnastics Canada, Andrew has been a real asset to our community, helping to strengthen safety and operational practices while encouraging us to think bigger about the role gymnastics can play in Canada into the future. He has helped to lay a foundation that can be built on to make that future a reality and he will be missed. We wish Andrew all the best in his new role.

Andrew personally wanted to share the following: “While new to the sport of gymnastics, I can truly say that it changes lives. I have had the privilege of witnessing amazing passion and determination in action from grassroots to the Olympic stage. A coach recently reminded me that the journey is as important as the successes – I want to thank you all for contributing in such a meaningful way to my journey, and I wish you all a great many successes in the future.”

The Board has engaged Stanton Chase to assist us in hiring an interim CEO with the goal of permitting a handover of responsibilities before the end of the month. At the same time, we will begin a search for a new permanent CEO, and we will be seeking input from the community. We will keep you apprised of our plans and next steps.

We look forward to working with all members of the gymnastics community to achieve our collective goals.

On behalf of the Board of Directors,

Wendy Smith, Chair
