Gymnastics Canada Celebrates National Coaches Week 2026

September 14, 2026 | News

Ottawa, ON (September 14, 2026) – From the first skills learned in a local gym to performances on the international stage, coaches are an important part of every athlete’s journey. From September 14–20, GymCan is joining the Canadian sport community in celebrating National Coaches Week and recognizing the coaches who contribute to gymnastics across the country every day.

Coaches play an important role beyond teaching technical skills. They help create environments where athletes can learn, build confidence, overcome challenges, pursue their goals, and develop lasting connections with sport.

National Coaches Week, an initiative of the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), is an opportunity for athletes, parents, clubs, Provincial and Territorial Organizations, and communities across the country to recognize those contributions and say #ThanksCoach.

Celebrate Your Coach

Throughout National Coaches Week, GymCan encourages the Canadian gymnastics community to recognize coaches who have made a difference, whether by sharing a favourite memory, photo, video, or message, or simply taking a moment to say thank you.

From September 14–20, those sharing a public photo or video on social media can also enter the Coaching Association of Canada’s contest by using #ThanksCoach and #CoachesWeek and tagging the Coaching Association of Canada. Two participants will each receive a $100 digital gift card, while the coach featured in each winning post will receive a $150 digital gift card.

Visit the National Coaches Week webpage for complete contest rules and eligibility requirements.
