Pan American Championships: Canada Shines in Acrobatic Gymnastics

Ottawa, ON (November 20, 2025) – Team Canada delivered standout performances at the Pan American Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships, held in Puerto Rico from November 14 to 16, 2025. Throughout the event, Canadian athletes showcased their talent and determination, earning strong results across every category. 

A Strong Start from Senior and Junior Athletes 

Canada set the tone early in the senior and junior divisions. In senior women’s pairs, Juliana Summers and Lauren Martilla impressed with a superb routine that earned them the silver medal and a total score of 73.160. The momentum continued in senior women’s groups, where Katherine Thompson, Maegan Kasian and Jerusha Weekes captured gold with a confident performance scoring 69.950. The juniors followed suit, as the trio of Victoria Giroux, Corélia Gaudreault-Coutier and Rosie Laflamme climbed onto the podium with a bronze-winning score of 76.310.

Rising Stars Deliver Multiple Podium Finishes 

The energy carried into the youth and pre-youth categories, where Canada’s depth was on full display. In youth women’s groups, Joelle Attard, Neve MacDonald and Marcela Rodriguez topped the standings with an impressive 78.450. Close behind were Bella Goetz, Josie Shelstad and Hannah Gertzen, whose strong performance secured them second place with 75.150. In pre-youth women’s pairs, Nadia Chotza and Suah Choi led the field with a winning score of 53.100. The success continued in pre-youth women’s groups, where Nathalie Rup, Ella Fedoration and Judy Ghafari added a silver medal to Canada’s tally with a score of 53.400. 

A Strong Finish for the Canadian Delegation 

Each final further highlighted the team’s excellent overall form. In the youth women’s group dynamic final, Attard, MacDonald and Rodriguez claimed second place with 26.000 points, followed by Goetz, Shelstad and Gertzen in third with 25.040. The Canadians shone again in the pre-youth women’s group balance final, as Rup, Fedoration and Ghafari dominated the field to take first place with 27.400. Chotza and Choi continued their strong showing, winning the pre-youth women’s pair dynamic final with a score of 26.500. The competition concluded with another Canadian double podium in the youth women’s group balance final: Attard, MacDonald and Rodriguez secured the top spot with 27.100, while Goetz, Shelstad and Gertzen finished third with 24.970.
