OTTAWA, ON (July 7, 2025) – Canada’s trampoline, double mini, and tumbling athletes delivered solid performances over the past weekend at the FIG Coimbra World Cup in Coimbra, Portugal from July 4 – 6th 2025.
Individual Trampoline
The Canadian senior athletes kicked off their competition with strong showings in the individual qualification rounds.
In the women’s individual trampoline, Sophiane Methot led the Canadian contingent, placing 5th with a score of 56.34, securing a spot in the second round of qualifications. She was joined by Sarah Milette, who finished 15th with a score of 54.89, also advancing to the next round. Melina Corriveau and Rielle Bonne rounded out the Canadian women’s team, placing 37th with 51.54 and 40th with 51.01, respectively.
On the men’s side, Gavin Dodd led the team with a 32nd place finish and a score of 58.09. He was followed closely by Keegan Soehn, who placed 34th with a score of 57.36, and Etienne Cloutier, who came 40th with a score of 56.51.
In the second round of qualifications for the women, Methot continued to impress, finishing 7th with a score of 55.77, earning her a spot in the finals. Milette finished 11th with a score of 54.79, narrowly missing out on a final.
In the women’s individual final, Sophiane Methot delivered another strong performance, finishing 6th overall with a final score of 55.73.
Synchro Trampoline
The synchronized trampoline events proved to be a highlight for Team Canada, particularly on the women’s side.
In the women’s synchronized trampoline qualification round, Sophiane Methot and Sarah Milette placed 7th with a score of 48.290, but advanced to the finals in 5th place due to the one-team-per-country rule. Rielle Bonne and Melina Corriveau followed closely behind in 8th with a score of 47.280, but did not advance for the finals.
In the men’s synchronized trampoline competition, Etienne Cloutier and Nathan Viau placed 12th with a score of 49.460, while teammates Gavin Dodd and Keegan Soehn finished 16th with a score of 39.010.
In the women’s synchronized final, Sophiane Methot and Sarah Milette delivered a fantastic routine to earn the silver medal, finishing with a score of 48.580.

Double Mini Trampoline
In the women’s double mini qualifications, Sophie Wax led the Canadian team with a strong performance, finishing 9th with a total score of 49.400, earning her a spot in the final. Amelia Dion and Kristina Dodd finished 12th with 48.600 and 14th with 47.600, respectively. In the final, Wax placed 8th with a score of 24.800.
On the men’s side, Gavin Dodd led the Canadian team, finishing 8th in qualifications with a score of 56.700, securing a spot in the final. Rylan Mallais finished 14th with 53.900, Tristan Bloom placed 17th with 51.100, and Griffyn Robertson rounded out the team in 19th with a score of 50.400.
Tumbling
In the women’s tumbling qualification round, Ophélie Berger led the Canadian team, finishing 18th with a total score of 46.400. She was followed by Claire Jackson, who placed 22nd with 44.700, while Taylor Pillinger and Sara Moore rounded out the team in 24th with 44.100 and 25th with 43.500, respectively.
On the men’s side, Victor Canuel delivered a strong performance, finishing 10th with a score of 52.500, earning a spot in the second round of qualifications. Teammates Benjamin Pinsk and Nathan Viau placed 21st with 47.900 and 25th with 41.900. In the second round, Canuel finished 15th with a score of 21.100 in the second round of qualifications, narrowly missing out on a spot in the finals.
