Ottawa, ON (April 13, 2026) – Impressive performances from Canadian gymnast Lia-Monica Fontaine, who stood out at the Dobro World Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup, held April 9–12 at the Gradski Vrt Sports Arena in Osijek, Croatia.
At just 16 years old, Fontaine was competing in her very first senior World Cup — and she wasted no time making her mark. She leaves the competition with two silver medals, highlighting both her strong potential and her composure under pressure.
The Canadian set the tone early in qualifications. On vault, she posted a 13.583 to finish third and advance to the final. She also impressed on floor, where her 13.400 placed her first in the qualification round.
In the apparatus finals, she continued her momentum. On Saturday, April 11, she claimed silver on vault with a solid 13.983. She followed that up on Sunday with another confident routine on floor, earning a second silver with a score of 13.100.
These results mark a very promising start to Fontaine’s senior international career. Her consistency, precision, and ability to deliver under pressure point to a bright future with the Canadian team.
